There was a lot in this chapter that reminded me of previous chapters. It seemed like everything about language should have been in the chapter with the brain. However, I can see how it fits in with thinking because you need language to think. Linguistic Determination is a hypothesis that even says so. It says language determintes the way we think. I don't understand how someone can think without knowing how to form words.
Phenome and Morpheme both sound like chemicals, however they are actually just terms of language. I thought the terms for the stages of language were a bit odd. The babbling stage kind of makes sense because that's all kids really do, but I feel as though, perhaps, nonsense stage would have been a better term. It just sounds more professional. I'm confused as to why there weren't terms for things after the telegraphic stage. Is everything after that just grouped into one- language? I don't even really understand the telegraphic stage. I've never seen my niece talk like in mostly nouns and verbs at all.
